Individual
Postdoctoral Associate, MIT CSAIL
Malte recently completed his PhD at the University of Cambridge and now works in the PDOS group at MIT CSAIL. He is interested in the areas of operating systems and large-scale distributed systems, and his work often incorporates and combines elements of both. Malte is an author of the award-winning EuroSys 2013 paper on Google's Omega, and helped develop and evaluate its shared-state scheduling model. More recently, Malte worked on the Firmament cluster scheduler, which combines insights from Omega with a novel approach to scheduling work on large-scale clusters; in addition, he also leads the DIOS project, a new distributed operating system for data centers.
